Cooking Steps

1
  • Dice the carrot.
  • Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large deep frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the carrot for 2 - 3 minutes.
  • In the meantime, crush or mince the garlic. Finely chop the onion.
  • Add the garlic and onion to the carrot and fry for 1 - 2 more minutes.

Did you know.. Carrots are rich in vitamin A, which not only supports growth but is also good for your skin, hair, nails, eyes and immune system. You can also find vitamin A in kale, spinach, broccoli and eggs.

2
  • Add the beef mince and fry for another 2 - 3 minutes.
  • In the meantime, boil plenty of water in a pot or saucepan, crumble in the stock cube and cook the conchiglie for 11 - 13 minutes. Reserve some of the pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  • Add the passata to the vegetables and fry for 1 more minute.
3
  • Turn the heat of the veggies to medium, add the cooking cream and the oregano to the vegetables, mix well and let simmer until serving.
  • Meanwhile, cut the bacon into strips. Heat a clean frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the bacon for 2 - 4 minutes.
  • Chop the basil.
  • Add the pasta and pasta water as preferred to the sauce, mix and season with salt and pepper.
4
  • Serve the pasta with the sauce in bowls and the bacon, cheese, basil and crispy fried onions alongside, so everyone can assemble their own pasta bowl (see Tip).

Health Tip: This recipe is high in calories. If you're watching your calorie intake, use just half of the cheese and keep the rest to use another time.
