What do you use tofu for?

Tofu can be stir-fried, fried, grilled and used in curries, salads, spreads and even smoothies. Although tofu is sometimes considered tasteless, it absorbs actually taste good from other ingredients.

What is tofu anyway?

Tofu is made from soy milk. This is done by soaking, grinding and cooking soy beans, after which it excess moisture (soy milk) is squeezed out of the ground beans. A (vegan) rennet is then added to the soy milk. Depending on the technique used and the type of rennet, soft or firm tofu is created.

How is tofu made?

First, dried soybeans are washed and soaked, and then they are ground into a paste. The amount of water added ultimately determines the creaminess of the soy milk. The soy paste is gently boiled for 15-30 minutes and then drained as a liquid, through a cloth in a sieve.
